New Agricultural Entrepreneurship Training Program
The Cambodian Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (CPSA) is Grow Asia's national partner organization in Cambodia that works closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and other government agencies, as well as the private sector and farmers' organizations. . CPSA works with companies, government agencies, civil society organizations, farmers' groups and financial institutions to connect smallholder farmers to the market. The overall goal is to increase farmers' incomes and productivity, as well as promote environmental sustainability for agricultural work. In addition, CPSA is supporting four working groups: cashew, pepper, fruits and vegetables, and small and medium enterprises in agriculture, food, and three other important issues (contract farming, agricultural investment, and agriculture). Khmer Entrepreneurship (KE), an institution under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has the vision of becoming a national platform for promoting all activities of the entrepreneurial sector in Cambodia. The mission of Cambodian entrepreneurs is to support co-energy and build a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports economic diversification and innovation, increasing productivity and creating jobs. To achieve its mission, Cambodian entrepreneurs focus on four core programs, including promoting a culture of entrepreneurship, capacity development, networking and capital funding.
In early 2021, the CPSA received support from Cambodian entrepreneurs through a partnership to implement a new business training program "Entrepreneurs in Agricultural Communities". The three-year program aims to create a highly productive and sustainable agricultural industry by working with two target groups, youth and farmers. The project has two main components: first, "new business training" in which young people are trained in agricultural techniques, entrepreneurship and business skills for 4 months, and second, "internship" of One-year students in agricultural communities in target provinces such as Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom to support farmers and rural communities.
